1 Overview

EMI & Loan Calculator (we, our, us, or the App) is a financial utility application that helps users calculate loan EMIs, track repayments, compare live bank interest rates, and manage saved loan scenarios.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and your rights. By downloading or using the App you agree to the practices described here.

2 Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use the App you may enter:

• Loan parameters — principal amount, interest rate, tenure, currency, loan type, and a custom loan name.
• Payment history — EMIs you mark as paid inside the Loan Tracker.
• Reminder dates — dates you set for EMI due-date notifications.

All of this data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

• Name, email address, or phone number
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts, camera, microphone, or media files
• Banking credentials or financial account details

3 How We Use Your Information

• Loan calculations — your entered data is used locally to compute EMIs, amortization schedules, and prepayment scenarios.
• Live bank rates — the App makes an anonymous network request to our server to fetch current interest rates from banks across multiple countries.
• Local notifications — reminder dates you set are used to schedule on-device EMI due-date alerts via the operating system's notification service.
• Advertising — the Advertising ID is passed to Google AdMob to display ads within the App. We do not use it for any other purpose.

4 Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This includes the Advertising ID, general location, and app-interaction events.

Our API Server

When fetching live bank rates, the App connects to loan-mortgage-calc.thinkosys.com. This connection includes your device's IP address as a standard part of any internet request. We do not log or store IP addresses on our server.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

5 Data Storage & Security

All loan data you enter is stored locally on your device using Hive, a lightweight encrypted key-value database. This data never leaves your device.

Our API server uses industry-standard security practices including HTTPS transport and access controls to protect the bank-rate data it serves.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

6 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays banner and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob uses the Advertising ID to show personalised ads based on your interests.

Opting out of personalised ads

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalisation (older versions).
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalised Ads.

Opting out means you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised to your interests.

7 App Permissions

We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, or any other sensitive permission.

8 Data Retention & Deletion

Since all user-generated data (saved loans, payment history, reminders) is stored locally on your device:

• You can delete individual saved loans at any time within the App.
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data — we have no copy of it.
• Data collected by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own retention policies. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID via your device settings.

9 Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at hello@thinkosys.com and we will promptly delete such information.

10 Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion — request deletion of your data. Since all loan data is local, you can delete it directly in the App or by uninstalling it.
• Opt-out of personalised advertising — via your device's ad settings (see Section 6).
• Objection — object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in the App, applicable laws, or our practices. When we make material changes we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
